Thirteen years ago today, Firefighter Charles “Charlie” D. Wilson made the ultimate sacrifice. On the morning of June 28, 2012, while responding to his call of duty, Charlie lost his life in a motor vehicle accident en route to the firehouse.
Charlie joined the Mineral Volunteer Fire Department in 2006 and rose through the ranks with quiet strength and relentless dedication, earning the title of Sergeant. In 2009, he joined Louisa County Fire & EMS and went full-time in 2010—never chasing glory, just answering the call.
He wasn’t just a firefighter. He was a brother. A protector. The kind of guy who never backed down from the heat.
His legacy still rides with every siren and echoes in every firehouse across this county. He is deeply missed by his family, friends, and fire service brothers and sisters. His impact on Louisa County will never be forgotten. |
